Chapter 12

“She is my light”

I don’t even know how the fuck I got here, but I’m sure as shit glad fate finally decided to hook me up for once. For a while there it was getting mundane… work, sleep, random women and all that bullshit. Or occasionally I’d go have dinner with my Aunt and Uncle then maybe I’d find myself at home fucking around with something that needed fixed. Truth be told that when I bought my house I didn’t see a long term future for myself there. I didn’t think it was something that would ever be for me. I had settled with the thought that once I fixed it up I’d sell it, make a profit and move onto the next. A little side money. Now, however, I’m not so sure anymore, because the more time I spend with Lilly the more I see new surprising possibilities.

Time seems to fly by while you’re having fun and not paying attention to the clock or the calendar. With Lilly in my life she quickly turned into a daily necessity, and it scares the fuck outta me sometimes. Which brings on the need to feel some new pain, so I’m pounding the heavy bag at the gym this morning. As thoughts of her reel in my head of what’s next to come. With a past full of let downs and long climbs from the bottom to the top of obstacles I’ve had to overcome, I just can’t help but fear something coming along and fucking shit up. Only this time my heart’s involved. Where it was once in the dark and full of nothing, it’s now beating with a new purpose. A future, and Lilly is nothing short of a light to my darkness. She’s an anomaly, and best of all she’s mine. So I have to keep my brain on the right track, I have to stay positive because she deserves it, hell maybe even I do too.

Every day that goes by we begin it and end it together. With her it’s just easy, we laugh, agree on most things and best of all we’re beginning to master a special kind of connection. We make love, we take from one another, and we just straight-out fuck. Downright dirty and in every fucking place in sight. I can’t keep my hands off of her and honestly she’s just as bad. Plus knowing that she only wants me is a high like I’ve never experienced.

Lilly and I have shared stories and things that we’ve grown stronger from. She saw my bullet scar on the back of my shoulder and went nuts over it too. I told her how it happened and she cried. War stories are never pretty, and since that’s all I got from my time…then I’m more fortunate than most. Friends lost limbs, and even worse, their lives. As for me, I’ll carry the pain and never use one word of complaint, it could’ve been worse. Lilly however seemed
